OVERVIEW
GALAXIAS is Roland's most ambitious software release to date: a Super Instrument that unifies 50 years of iconic synthesizers and drum machines into a single creative environment. The challenge wasn't just to show a product — it was to translate the weight of a legacy into something that felt cinematic, alive, and worthy of the name.
As co-art director, I shaped both the visual language and the motion of the launch film — defining how the product looks, moves, and feels in three dimensions. From establishing the lighting atmosphere and material aesthetic to choreographing the animation behavior, my role covered the full creative arc from concept to final render.
WHAT I OWNED
Color palette and atmospheric mood
Camera language and composition — each shot framed as an editorial decision
Material and surface system for the 3D product
Motion choreography — pacing of reveals, weight and ease of transitions
FORMAT & SCALABILITY
The film was conceived and delivered as a multi-format system: a 16:9 cinematic cut for web and YouTube, and a native 9:16 vertical version for social — not a crop, but a recomposed experience that works within its format.
BRAND FRAMEWORK
Typography, color base, and brand lockups followed Roland's established visual system. Creative ownership covered material behavior, lighting setups, camera choreography, and motion logic.
VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Early renders focused on establishing the material aesthetic and lighting mood before committing to the full animation. Surface treatments were designed to feel premium and precise, with lighting crafted to evoke depth and scale consistent with GALAXIAS's cosmic identity.
